(October 19, 2026) — The following programs and events will take place at Killingworth Library during the month of November, 2026. Our regular programs – Tales for Tots, Tiny Thinkers, Love2Sign, Minecraft, Music with Margie, Magic the Gathering, Dungeons & Dragons, and Surprise Saturday – continue as well. Pre-registration is required for all of these programs. Please visit the Calendar on killingworthlibrary.org or call 860-663-2000 to reserve your spot.

Library Renewal with Stephen Watson – Tuesday, November 3rd, 2:00pm-3:00pm. We have carefully designed this Tai Chi class to promote balance, structural stability, and ease of mind. You can join us whether you’ve had no prior experience or perhaps practiced Tai Chi elsewhere. Each of our practices can be done seated or with the use of an assistive device! We’d like to welcome everyone to the wise world of soft health methods. In our classes, we’ll explore modern methods of balance restoration as we journey through the wonderful wisdom of Asia’s ancient traditions. Each class will offer gentle stretches, self-massage self-care routines, guided energy circulation practices, and a chance to play at the gentle movements famous for their power and poise. Join us in the spirit of play and take the tools home to play every day! Space is limited, so please register in advance.

Adult Movie Night – Wednesday, November 4th, 6:00pm-8:00pm. Join us for a free movie viewing! We meet in the adult reading area after the library closes at 6:00. Feel free to bring your own snacks and (covered, non-alcoholic) drinks. Please contact the library or visit the Calendar on our website for this month’s title, and be sure to register to reserve your seat.

Tweens Writing – Friday, November 6th, 4:00pm-5:15pm. This program is an opportunity for children ages 9-12 years old to share their writing with peers. Based on a workshop model, each writer has an opportunity to share their work and receive feedback (although sharing is always optional). This fall, writing will include short stories, legends of horror, and poetry. A formal reading is planned for January. This program runs from September to December. It’s very popular, so please register for each session that you can attend.

Thanksgiving Collage – Saturday, November 7th, 10:00am-11:15am. Children ages 7 years and older are invited to create a festive holiday decoration! Draw or trace a Thanksgiving image: a pumpkin, a Pilgrim’s hat, corn, or feathers. Then use paper scraps to “color” in the image! All supplies will be provided. Space is limited, so please register in advance.

Autumn Fairy Lanterns – Monday, November 9th, 4:30pm-5:30pm. Adults are invited to create a seasonal “lantern” – a mason jar embellished with dried flowers and leaves. This simple craft is perfect for a table top decoration, gift, or windowsill illumination. Supplies are limited, so please register in advance.

Tuesday Trivia – Tuesday, November 10th, 6:00pm-7:00pm. Join us on the second Tuesday of the month for our adult trivia program! Teams will be competing for the title of Trivia Master and a gift certificate to the library book sale. We will be playing a Jeopardy-style game with five categories, and new topics every month. We have a limit of six teams, with up to four players each. This calendar event has six sign-up slots, so please make sure only one player from each team submits a registration; the rest of the team members can just show up.

Pajama Storytime – Tuesday, November 17th, 5:30pm-6:00pm. Come dressed in your favorite PJs and cuddle with your favorite stuffed animal or blanket, while Mrs. Fig shares stories from our Favorite Authors collection. This month, she’s reading tales by Peter Reynolds. Get engaged with sound effects, movement, and puppets! Family members of all ages are welcome. Please register in advance.

LEGO STEM Club – Tuesday, November 17th, 6:00pm-6:45pm. Future engineers! Learn to use the STEM steps to success, as you solve a problem, plan and create a design, and then test your project. This month’s project is: build a bridge! It’s even more fun when you collaborate with another engineer. Suitable for elementary grades 1 through 4. Space and supplies are limited, so please register in advance.

American Girl Doll Club – Thursday, November 19th, 6:00pm-6:45pm. Join us with your favorite doll (it doesn’t have to be an American Girl doll) and make new friends! Enjoy a brief discussion, activities, and a craft from a historical time period. For this session, we’ll focus on Kirsten Larson and life in the 1850s. Suitable for elementary grades 1 through 4. Space and supplies are limited, so please register in advance. And please email Mrs. Fig if your child has any food allergies: jfigurelli@killingworthlibrary.org.

Video Game Design Club – starts Saturday, November 21st, 11:00am-12:30pm. Have you ever played a video game and thought about what type of game you would make if you could? Join us for this 5-week program to get creative and learn some game design skills! We’ll be using Bloxels to create our own art, animations, level designs, and more; by the end, everybody will be able to design their own side-scrolling or top-down video game. For tweens and teens aged 9+. We only have materials for 10 participants, so please register to save your seat. Please also bring your own laptop if possible, since our supply is limited.

Holiday Closures
The library will be closed on Wednesday, November 11, 2026 in honor of Veterans Day. We also will be closed on Thursday, November 26, 2026 for the Thanksgiving Day holiday.
