On a very rainy day at the Forge in Middletown, the Cougars soccer team had an explosive offensive display as they defeated a rough Coginchaug squad 6-0. Once again, the boys started out quickly with 2 goals in the first 15 minutes. Tristin Edwards put in the first goal on a pass from Nolan Sheppard, then Nolan put in the second goal off a free kick that landed in the box for him to collect. Freshman Stratti Dhembi scored number 3 on a cross from the corner by Tristin. Stratti then set up midfielder Luca Piacenti for number 4 in the 50th minute. Later in the second half, sophomore Leart Krasnicki had a breakaway to score number 5, and Carter Bruno rounded out the scoring with a corner kick from Wyatt Boothroyd.
The Cougars go to Middletown tomorrow and are home on Thursday vs. Old Lyme for their third game of this week.
