(August 13, 2026) — As summer winds down the Haddam Garden Club looks forward to its role overseeing The Flower and Horticulture competition at the Haddam Neck Fair on Thursday, September 3, 2026.

The Garden Club joins the Fair in celebration of the 250th Anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence.  Our floral themes are inspired by key moments in our history and symbols of independence.  There will be awards for arrangements, flower bouquets, house plants and individual stems.  Design categories and themes are listed below. Please see www.HaddamGardenClub.org under “More” for detailed descriptions and criteria.  Arrangements and bouquets will be judged on harmony, design, balance and proportion, condition, how well the arrangement reflects the theme, distinction and originality, and construction.

Any entry including flowers listed on the “Invasive” or “Endangered” lists will automatically have five points deducted. Best in Show Flower Design will receive the Chris Harris Award and $15, sponsored by the Haddam Garden Club.
