(February 26, 2026) — The Haddam Garden Club is proud to present an informative presentation from A Place Called Hope in Killingworth. APCH is a volunteer-run, non-profit where birds of prey are rescued, rehabbed and hopefully released back into the wild. They specialize in Eagles, Hawks, Owls, Falcons, Harriers, Kites and Osprey. “There is no comparison to giving a wild bird or animal the gift of freedom,” says APCH President Christine Cummings.

She will share with us a program called “Think Outside the Bait Box,” looking at the hard topic of reliance on poisons to address rodent issues and the effect of those poisons on our birds. Learn the truth about these outdated methods, and about safer ways to tackle the rodent issue long term. She will also be bringing one Ambassador Bird of Prey.
Join us Wednesday, March 11, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. at the HVFC Firehouse, 439 Saybrook Road in Higganum. There is a $10 donation, and beverages and sweet treats will be served.
RSVP llcooper13@comcast.net, or visit our website at HaddamGardenClub.org for more information.
