(January 31, 2026) — Access Health CT will open a Special Enrollment Period on February 1, 2026 allowing eligible customers to enroll in coverage with a new state subsidy in place. Connecticut invested more than $100 million into providing a subsidy to members of the public whose healthcare plans and costs were made significantly more expensive with the expiration of federal tax credits at the end of 2025.
Households earning between 100% and 200% of the federal poverty level not already enrolled in the Covered CT program will receive a subsidy replacing 100% of the expired federal tax credits, while households earning up to 500% of the federal poverty level can receive a subsidy of 50%. Eligible customers who have already enrolled or plan to enroll will see a credit applied through their carrier bill. In coming weeks, all consumers will receive premium bills with credits for the state subsidy, as those who already enrolled in Access Health CT are eligible for Covered CT as well.
