(July 10, 2025) — We know it still feels too early for kids to be thinking about going back to school, but at Haddam-Killingworth Youth and Family Services we’re already gearing up to make sure every student starts the year off right. Our Twelfth Annual School Supply Program is now underway, offering backpacks, lunch boxes, water bottles, and other essential school items to HK students who need a little extra support. Families can sign up now through August 4, 2025 to receive supplies before the school year begins.

Each participating student will receive a backpack filled with essential school supplies, including a lunch box, water bottle and other necessary items to help them start the school year prepared and excited for the new year.

Community members looking to support the program can contribute by donating items through the HKYFS Amazon Wish List or by contacting the HKYFS office at 860-345-3966.

In addition to the school supply program, HKYFS will once again co-host its Seventh Annual Back-to-School Haircut Event with Dillon Zak and the Glenwood Barbershop. The free haircut event will take place on Saturday, August 17, 2025 at the Haddam Volunteer Firehouse, helping students look and feel their best as they return to school.
