(October 10, 2026) — Spectrum Gallery in Centerbrook will present art classes for children during October and November in its “Young Artists: Fall Art Studio” program for ages 7 to 11.

Children can explore drawing, watercolor, collage, pattern, composition, and mixed media through projects inspired by artists including Shel Silverstein, Pablo Picasso, Henri Matisse, Vincent van Gogh, and Yayoi Kusama.

Activities include painting a deciduous-tree landscape, creating patterned and cut-paper collages, making an autumn night scene with oil pastels, and decorating pumpkins with colorful polka-dot designs.

Classes are held on Wednesdays: October 21, 28 and November 4, 11, 18, from 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 pm. All materials included. Registration is through the Essex Park and Recreation Department at https://essexct.recdesk.com/Community/Program (Search Spectrum)
