(September 10, 2026) — A referendum vote of the electors and citizens qualified to vote in town meetings of the Town of Haddam will be held in Haddam at the following places:
Haddam Firehouse Complex
439 Saybrook Road
Higganum, Connecticut 06441
Haddam Neck Firehouse
50 Rock Landing Road
Haddam, Connecticut 06424
Regional School District No. 17 Central Office
57 Little City Road
Higganum, Connecticut 06441
and simultaneously in Killingworth on Thursday, September 24, 2026, between the hours of 6:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. pursuant to Section 10-56 of the General Statutes of the State of Connecticut, as amended, upon a resolution adopted by the Regional School District No. 17 Board of Education at a meeting held on August 25, 2026.
The resolution will be placed on the ballot as the following Yes/No question:
“Shall Regional School District No. 17, comprised of the Towns of Haddam and Killingworth, appropriate $151,900,000 for renovations and improvements to Haddam-Killingworth High School and authorize the issuance of bonds or notes ofthe District in an amount not to exceed $77,200,000 to finance the appropriation, or so much as may be necessary after deducting grants to be received for the project?”
Voters approving the resolution shall vote “Yes” and those opposing the resolution shall “No.” Voting tabulators will be used. A copy of the full text of the resolution is on file and available for public inspection at the Town Clerk’s Office. Absentee ballots are now available from the Town Clerk’s office and will be counted at the polls.
