(July 30, 2026) — Lace up your running shoes and join one of Killingworth’s favorite summer traditions as the Annual Killingworth Road Race returns on Saturday, August 29, 2026, with an 8:30 a.m. start. The certified four-mile race welcomes runners and walkers of all ages and abilities for a morning of fitness, community spirit and hometown fun.

Now a beloved annual tradition, the Killingworth Road Race draws participants from across Connecticut and beyond, including competitive runners, families, first-time racers, and members of the popular Run 169 Towns Society. Participants will enjoy a scenic four-mile course through the beautiful countryside of Killingworth while supporting an event that gives back to the community. Proceeds from the race help support Killingworth Congregational Church’s Missions Committee and local outreach efforts, including organizations such as the Eddy Shelter and shoreline food pantries.

This year’s event promises another memorable race day with exciting enhancements, including plans for breakfast food, live music, and a route featuring a portion through the picturesque Lavender Pond Farm property. Returning favorites include the famous blueberry pie awards presented to the top two finishers in each age category.

Participants are encouraged to register early to receive discounted pricing and the opportunity to purchase a commemorative performance race shirt before ordering deadlines. Awards will be presented across multiple age divisions, making the event enjoyable for both seasoned athletes and recreational participants.

“The Killingworth Road Race is more than just a race—it’s a community celebration,” organizers said. “Whether you’re running for a personal best, walking with friends, or cheering from the sidelines, it’s a wonderful way to spend a summer morning while supporting local charitable outreach.”
