Haddam 250 Committee Presents Donations to Three Town Agencies

Submitted by Stacey Kinney Arroyo, Haddam 250 Committee

(July 30, 2026) — In a powerful demonstration of community unity, the Haddam 250 Committee, along with our First Selectman, officially presented a series of major donations to three essential town resources on July 28, 2026. Gathering inside the Haddam Senior Center, the committee and First Selectman Sean Donlan presented checks representing $1000 each to the Haddam Emergency Fuel Bank, the Haddam Food Pantry, and the Haddam Senior Center.

These funds, totaling $3000, were raised through grassroots community efforts, driven primarily by the recent donations of commemorative Haddam 250 T-shirts. The committee extends its deepest gratitude to every resident who donated money for a shirt and to every business that contributed to the initiative, making these immediate investments in local social services possible.

“As we look back on 250 years of our nation’s history, we want to ensure we are actively supporting the people who make Haddam thrive today,” the committee stated. “These donations will immediately help neighbors stay warm, keep families fed, and enrich programming for local seniors.”

Special thanks to Director of Senior and Social Services Becky Rice, to Senior Center Activities Coordinator Doreen Staskelunas and to their amazing staff and volunteers. Your dedication and hard work are so appreciated by the Town of Haddam and those you serve.
