Cruise Night on Main Street Returns to Middletown September 2nd

(July 30, 2026) — Pamela Steele, Chairwoman of the Middlesex County Chamber of Commerce, has announced that the 29th Annual Cruise Night on Main Street, powered by NAPA, will take place on Wednesday, September 2, 2026, in downtown Middletown.

In collaboration with the City of Middletown, the event has been moved to early September to better support downtown businesses during a summer of frequent Main Street closures, to provide a cooler evening for classic cars to cruise, and to complement the many events highlighting America’s 250th Celebration happening throughout Middletown and the region this summer. The new date also makes Cruise Night the perfect way to celebrate Labor Day weekend and officially close out the summer.

Cruise Night on Main Street is one of Middletown’s most beloved traditions, featuring hundreds of pre‑2001 vehicles lining both sides of historic Main Street from Washington Street to the South Green, from 4:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thousands of spectators are expected to enjoy classic cars, live music, great food, and a festive downtown atmosphere.

“This annual family‑friendly tradition showcases incredible vehicles, great music, fantastic food, and a wide array of vendors,” said Johanna Bond, President of the Middlesex County Chamber of Commerce. “The Chamber and our Car Cruise Committee are thrilled to once again take over Main Street for our 29th year and bring this exciting event to the community this September.”

The event will once again be filled with American spirit, amazing cars, live music, and dozens of vendors. Cruise Night benefits Middletown Youth Programs, including the Middletown Summer Youth Employment Program. A suggested $10 donation is requested from vehicle participants, all of whom will be eligible to win one of 20 sponsor awards.
