Young Entrepreneurs Invited to All Things Killingworth Town Picnic

(July 18, 2026) — One of the newest additions to this year’s All Things Killingworth Picnic is all about inspiring the next generation.

On Saturday, October 3, 2026 the picnic will host its very first Kids Market, giving children ages 5–17 the opportunity to become entrepreneurs for the day by running their own small businesses and selling products they’ve created. The Kids Market is part of a nationwide program that gives young people hands-on experience with entrepreneurship, creativity, customer service, and money management in a fun, supportive environment.

Whether they’re selling handmade crafts, artwork, baked goods, jewelry, slime, or another creative idea, every booth is run by the kids themselves, with parents cheering them on from the sidelines.

“One of our goals with the picnic has always been to create something that brings the whole community together,” said Jessie D’Amato Ford, co-founder of All Things Killingworth. “The Kids Market is a wonderful way to encourage creativity, confidence, and entrepreneurship while giving young people the chance to experience what it feels like to build something of their own.”

The Kids Market joins an already full day of family fun at the All Things Killingworth Picnic, including live music, food trucks, local vendors, nonprofits, children’s activities, and community entertainment.

The picnic also serves a larger purpose. Proceeds from the event will support Deer Lake Outdoor Center summer day camp scholarships and the HK Backpack Program, helping local children both experience summer camp and have access to nutritious weekend meals. The All Things Killingworth Picnic will be held on Saturday, October 3, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Deer Lake Outdoor Center. Save the date to be there and support our community and young entrepreneurs.
