How to Beat the Heat in Haddam

Submitted by Town of Haddam

(June 29, 2026) — With this week’s temperatures expected to be well into the 90’s, the Town of Haddam reminds residents that Brainerd Memorial Library at 920 Saybrook Road will be open as a Cooling Center during its regular hours:

Mondays and Thursdays from between 10:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.

Tuesdays and Wednesdays between 10:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m.

Fridays between 10:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.

Saturdays between 10:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.

The Library is ADA compliant, and has charging stations and internet access.  Find out more by visiting the BML website at brainerdlibrary.org)

The Town will use the Senior Center as a back-up Cooling Center. If that happens, we will send out a message to anyone who has signed up for alerts on the town website, as well as posting the information on our Facebook pages.
