Motown Came to Killingworth’s Parmelee Farm

(June 11, 2026) — Motown came to our town on June 5, 2026. Scott Struzinski’s What’s on My Roof presented “Killingworth Motown Extravaganza,” featuring the opening act Blues on the Rocks Band, with Victor G. Washington and The Sweet Soul Revue as the main act.

The concert was free and funding to benefit Haddam Killingworth Youth and Family Services was raised through generous sponsorships and raffle tickets. Volunteers were busy throughout the event, food trucks provided delicious options, and a golf cart was giving rides where needed.

The weather fully cooperated with event planners. People came from here and away to enjoy great music, food, family, and friends. Some sat under the pavilion while others sat at picnic tables.

Many preferred sitting out on the lawns and a few well-behaved canines were among the 1600+ in attendance.

Parmelee Farm again served as our town green, welcoming people from as far away as Branford. Scott Struzinski was the Executive Producer of the Event. Eileen Unger was in charge of promotions and over all organization. Kudos to both and the many others involved.
