(May 20, 2026) — Each month this year, Essex Bank is honoring its 175th anniversary with $1,851 surprise grants to local nonprofits. The fourth organization selected for the program is Middlesex Habitat for Humanity. “Habitat for Humanity takes ‘building community’ literally. They provide invaluable support to those in need, and we are honored to contribute to their cause,” said Diane Arnold, President and CEO of Essex Bank.

Since 1996, Middlesex Habitat for Humanity, a locally run 501(c)(3) nonprofit and part of a worldwide organization, has built, rehabilitated, and preserved a multitude of homes. They also provide financial education and advocate for fair and equitable housing policy. The funds from their affordable mortgages contribute to building future homes, creating opportunities for more
people to thrive.
