(May 18, 2026) — The Haddam-Killingworth High School Boys Lacrosse team’s ten-game record-setting winning streak was broken by North Branford at home on May 5, 2026. In similar fashion to the Cougars first match-up against North Branford, neither team led by more than three goals the entire game, and the final score was 14-15. The game was close, and the Cougars never let up.
The highlight reel includes Senior John Moyer, who led the team with 6 goals and 2 assists. In one of those goals, with 2:34 left in the third quarter, Moyer managed to score amid a pile of North Branford defensemen. Senior Ethan Pitts had 3 goals, and exemplified the intensity through an unassisted shot missed, recovered and shot again to score. Other goals came from Spencer Savoy, Kody Lehet and Finn O’Hanlon. The defense put up a tough front and goalie Colin Civiello had six saves, two of them with only minutes to go in the fourth quarter, which kept the Cougars within striking distance. Following the North Branford loss, HKHS defeated Old Lyme 21-5 and was defeated by Class L Simsbury 12-14.
The next game for the HKHS Boys Lacrosse team will be at home on May 19, 2026 versus Cromwell.
