(May 7, 2026) — The Haddam-Killingworth High School Boys Lacrosse team has set a new Class S record, demolishing the previous seven-game winning streak record with a their current 10-game winning streak. As of this writing, the Cougars are #1 in Class S, with an average of 18.2 goals per game. This is an incredible achievement for the team, which is led by coaches Fred Federico and Darren Myers.
Last week the Cougars scored wins against Class L team Hall of West Hartford, and Class S teams Old Saybrook, Morgan and Cromwell. Against Hall, HKHS was leading 10-1 by halftime and posted a final score of 18-3. Against Old Saybrook, the Cougars were up 13-3 at the half and 19-5 for the final, with the last goal made by Spencer Savoy, a behind-the-back shot, assisted by Kody Lehet.
Against Comwell there were many game highlights from the team’s Freshmen. Wyatt Sanderson dominated in the face-offs and had one goal, assisted by Jack Banaletti, and three assists. Luca Piacenti had a goal on the crease and two assists, Declan Macauley scored two goals, Ryan Perry went coast to coast and scored his first career goal, and Mason Gestay, Rowan Geckler, and Gabe Marciniec each chipped in with goals.
The next game for the HKHS Boys Lacrosse team will be on May 7, 2026 at Valley Regional High School in Deep River.
