Eversource Named A Leading Employer of Military Veterans

Submitted by Sarah Paduano

(April 30, 2026) — In recognition of its year-round dedication to prioritizing veterans in the workplace, Eversource has been named one of the nation’s top veteran employers by VETS Indexes for the third year in a row. This year, the energy company has been honored with the VETS Indexes prestigious 5 Star Employer Award, the highest award level offered by the organization. This distinction highlights Eversource’s unwavering commitment to veteran employment and achievements in recruiting, retaining and developing both veterans and the military-connected community.

“We’re deeply honored to be named a 5 Star Employer by VETS Indexes and to again receive this esteemed national recognition for supporting our veteran employees, who play a vital role on our team and whose talents translate seamlessly to our mission of delivering safe, reliable power to millions of customers across the three states we serve,” said Eversource Executive Vice President of Human Resources and Information Technology Susan Sgroi. “We have more than 830 veterans who work at Eversource representing all branches of the U.S. military, and every day we see how their service-oriented work ethic, strong leadership abilities and high integrity bring an unmatched dynamic to our workforce, resulting in direct benefits for our customers and communities. From our country to our company, our nation’s heroes have made immense contributions through their service to the public, and we take great pride in being able to provide them with specialized support, resources and development that will help advance their professional careers.”

“Eversource Energy has demonstrated meaningful and measurable support for veterans and the military-connected community through its commitment to building opportunities for those who served,” said Nicholas Antaki, President of VETS Indexes. “Employers like Eversource continue to set the standard and help drive the future of veteran employment forward, and we want to congratulate them for their remarkable progress in creating a welcoming and empowering workplace for veterans across New England.”

Eversource is one of nearly 350 organizations that were considered by VETS Indexes this year for their efforts to strengthen employment opportunities and support systems for veterans, members of the National Guard and Reserves, and military spouses. Participating organizations who submitted surveys to showcase their progress in veteran employment included companies both large and small, government agencies and departments, nonprofit groups, colleges and universities. The organizations range in size from fewer than 100 employees to more than 200,000 employees and represent a wide variety of industries.

In addition to being recognized by VETS indexes for the last three years, Eversource has also been honored with the U.S. Department of Labor’s prestigious HIRE Vets Medallion Award for six consecutive years – a powerful testament to the energy company’s unwavering efforts to recruit, retain and develop veterans in the workforce.
