Renter’s Rebate Program Begins April 1st

Submitted by Municipal Agent, Town of Killingworth

(March 17, 2026) — Every Spring there are two state benefit programs available to income-qualified residents who are over 65 or disabled. Maximum gross income must be under $46,300 for singles or $56,600 for couples. Qualifying residents can choose between Homeowner’s Tax Relief or Renter’s Rebate. Beechwood residents can choose either one.

Homeowner’s Tax Relief is administered by the Town Assessor with proof of income. Phone 860-663-1765, ext. 506. Renter’s Rebate is administered by the Municipal Agent, at ext. 217.  Flyers with a list of required documents are available at Killingworth Town Hall.

Renter’s Rebate is based on a summary from the previous year of payments for rent, heat, electric and water. The program begins on April 1, 2026. For further information, contact Mercedes Ricciuti, Killingworth Municipal Agent, at 860-663-1765, ext. 217, or email municipalagent@townofkillingworth.com.
