Spectrum Gallery Exhibit “Golden Threads and Paper Creations” Opens March 27th

Submitted by Barbara Nair

(March 14, 2026) — Explore the artistry of fiber and paper with Spectrum Art Gallery’s Golden Threads and Paper Creations, a show celebrating the beauty, versatility, and imaginative possibilities of these materials. Artists in the exhibition transform everyday fibers and paper into striking works of art, highlighting both traditional techniques and contemporary interpretations.

The exhibition features wall art, fiber sculptures, art book sculpture and installations created with materials such as textiles, natural fibers, and handmade papers. Visitors will also find finely crafted artisan pieces including basketry, leatherwork, and felted creations, alongside book art, quilled designs, and intricate paper-cut works. Together, the works reveal remarkable ways artists shape, layer, weave, and sculpt these materials into pieces that are both visually compelling and richly textured.

The show’s Opening Reception is Friday, March 27, 2026 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. and an Open House Weekend follows on Saturday, March 28, 2026 from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. and Sunday, March 29, 2026 from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Visitors are invited to meet participating artists, explore the exhibition, and enjoy wine and refreshments while experiencing the gallery’s newest collection of artwork and fine crafts. The exhibit runs through May 9, 2026.

Spectrum Gallery also offers paintings, photography, and an Artisans Store filled with pottery, glass, home décor, children’s toys, jewelry, and other handcrafted accessories created by regional artists.

Spectrum Art Gallery is located at 61 Main Street in Centerbrook. Gallery hours: Wednesday–Saturday (12:00 Noon–6:00 p.m.) and Sunday (12:00 Noon–5:00 p.m.).
