Find a Fur Baby: Sonny’s Looking for a Home

Submitted by Judith Levin

(March 14, 2026) — This poor boy was found abandoned, unfortunately. Through all that, he still has a bright spirit and has not given up hope for a happy future. Sonny is a four-year-old Pit Bull Mix, weighs seventy-two pounds and has the biggest heart one can ever have!

There are so many great things to know about this guy. Sonny is very gentle and as affectionate as he can be, loves people, dogs, is a social butterfly, extremely intelligent, very responsive, loyal, playful, and is a big eager beaver who wants to learn, and connect with anyone he meets. Wow, this guy has a LOT going for him. His side job will keep you laughing with his quick wit and fun-loving playful moments.

Sonny will bond to you like Gorilla Glue and never leave your side. I have to say, he plays quite nicely with other dogs he meets, follows directions, and responds when asked a question.

You may or may not know that animals are intuitive. Sonny has such a special gift where he feels people’s emotions and will reassure you when you need it the most. Because of this gift, he can get anxious when unsure or alone. To help him with that, Sonny is currently in a Board and Train program, and he is learning and building confidence skills every day. He is a dog like no other, winning the hearts of people who’ve been around him. He spreads joy to all.

So, why not show love and support to him and brighten his day and life by providing the absolute best home he can ever have. Sonny will bring you years and years of joy and love. It doesn’t get any better than that!

If you are interested in making Sonny a member of your family, please contact Marney at marney.b@poainc.org  or call Protectors of Animals at:  860-569-0722.  To start the process for adoption, copy and paste www.poainc.org into your browser and fill out an application. Allow up to one week to hear back once you’ve applied.
