Programs and Events at Essex Library, March 2026

(February 11, 2026) — The following programs and events will take place at Essex Library, 33 West Avenue in Essex during March, 2026:

Monday, March 2, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. “From Cosmos to Compost, Our Place in the Universe”

Bringing together astronomy and biology, this talk from Yale Science in the News, traces the story from stars and galaxies to the biological processes that recycle matter through ecosystems. Yale Science in the News is a student-driven initiative where Yale graduate students and postdoctoral researchers present complex and exciting science topics to the general public. This program is free and open to the public.

Monday, March 2, 2026 at 4:00 p.m. Movie Matinee at Essex Library

Thursday, March 5, 2026 at 6:00 p.m. “Creating a Healthy Ecosystem in Your Landscape, and Why it Matters”

A trained Naturalist and President of the Connecticut Horticultural Society, Jim Sirch will be at Essex Library to provide a lecture on how to create a healthy eco-system in the landscape that functions well for people and wildlife. This program is free and open to the public.

Saturday, March 7, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. Irish Classics with Pierce Campbell and Paul Neri

The Essex Library will welcome former Connecticut State Troubadour Pierce Campbell of The Kerry Boys and Banjoist Paul Neri for an unforgettable and lively performance filled with Irish and Celtic folk music. This program is free and open to the public at Essex Library. Registration is required.
