Submitted by Tiffany Riggs
(February 11, 2026) — The Haddam Women’s Club is pleased to announce that applications are now being accepted for the Amanda June Lisitano Memorial Scholarship, established in loving memory of Amanda Lisitano. This scholarship honors Amanda’s steadfast commitment to her community, her family and her profession. As a lifelong resident of Haddam/Higganum, Amanda made a profound impact, touching the lives of countless individuals with her kindness, generosity and dedication.
Amanda’s legacy is defined by selflessness and service. As a devoted preschool teacher in Hartford, a loving mother of three young children, and an active member of the Haddam Women’s Club, she exemplified compassion and generosity in all aspects of her life. Despite her own battles with cancer, Amanda’s spirit remained resilient, leaving an indelible mark on all who knew her.
The Amanda June Lisitano Memorial Scholarship honors Amanda’s enduring legacy of kindness and altruism. This $1,000 scholarship will be awarded to a graduating high school senior from Haddam, Higganum, or Haddam Neck who exemplifies Amanda’s spirit of generosity and community involvement, and who demonstrates a meaningful commitment to service.
Applications for this scholarship must be postmarked by April 24, 2026. Interested students can access the application form on the Haddam Women’s Club website or through their high school’s guidance office.
