Boys Basketball 2026: HKHS Downs Coginchaug, 70-31

February 2, 2026) — On Friday January 30, 2026 the Haddam-Killingworth High School Boys Basketball team defeated rival Coginchaug 70 – 31 to improve to 10 – 3 on the season.

The Cougars were led by Senior co-captain Jay Evans, who had 16 points including 4 3-pointers. Junior Kody Lehet continues to excel on offense and defense, pulling down rebounds and putting up 15 points. Rounding out the scoring for the Cougars, Seniors Declan Moriarty and Spencer Savoy each with 7; Ethan Pitts (3),  Juniors Brody Ferguson (7), Mason Eighmy (4), Noah Marica (4); and Sophomores Evan Garcia (4), Peyton Esposito (2), and Jon Slane (1).

The Cougars have qualified for both the Shoreline Conference Tournament and the State Tournament, thereby extending their season.  The Cougars will next face North Branford at home on February 3, 2026. JV at 5:30 p.m., Varsity at 7:00 p.m. See you on the Court.
