Boys Basketball 2026: HKHS Rolls Over Valley Regional, 69-50

(January 23, 2026) — On January 21, 2026, the Haddam-Killingworth High School Boys Basketball team defeated Valley Regional 69-50.  Star player of the game, Senior co-captain Jay Evans led all scorers with 19 points while snagging 6 rebounds and 3 steals.

Junior Noah Marica also had a big game and continues to impress. Marica had 14 points and 5 rebounds and was 5 for 6 from the free throw line. Junior Kody Lehet, following a strong performance against Portland, pulled down 4 rebounds, and was 7 for 8 from the free throw line with 9 points. Senior co-captain Declan Moriarty landed a huge 3-pointer in the fourth quarter to help propel the team to victory.

The Cougars also saw continued strong play from Juniors Mason Eighmy and Brody Ferguson with 10 and 9 points, respectively. Senior powerhouse Spencer Savoy pulled down 4 rebounds with 3 points and Moriarty chipped in 5. It was a great win for the Cougars as they improve to 8-3 on the season.

Next up for HKHS are the defending Shoreline Champion Old Lyme Wildcats on January 23, 2026. JV at 5:30 p.m. and Varsity at 7:00 p.m.. Come out to support your Cougars before the big snow. See you on the Court.
