(January 22, 2026) — On January 20, 2026, the Haddam-Killingworth High School Boys Basketball team defeated Portland 63-37. Star performer of the game Kody Lehet had a career high 16 points (matching his career high 16 rebounds from earlier in the season).

HKHS Senior co-captains Declan Moriarty and Jay Evans continued their one-two punch, Moriarty with 8 points and Evans with 12. Juniors Mason Eighmy and Brody Ferguson played well, contributing 7 points each. The Cougars were thrilled to welcome back Senior powerhouse Spencer Savoy. Savoy, who returned from the injured list, contributed 4 points and excelled under the boards. Rounding out the scoring Senior Ethan Pitts and Junior Noah Marica had 4 points each and Sophomore Evan Garcia was 1-2 from the free throw line.

It was a solid win for the Cougars who continue to showcase consistency on offense and solid play on defense, including rebounding by Lehet and Marica. The Cougars improve to 7-2 on the season and face Valley Regional at home on January 21, 2026. See you on the court.
