Haddam Business Spotlight: Lori’s She Shed

Submitted by Haddam Economic Development Commission

(January 22, 2026) — Lori’s She Shed, located at 112 Bridge Road in the Tylerville section of Haddam, is a delightful gift shop that embodies the essence of our town.

Lori’s She Shed Gifts was founded by Lori Maggi, whose passion for beautiful items and dedication to uplifting others, inspired her to establish this charming shop. The origins of Lori’s She Shed are particularly heartwarming, as it was a surprise gift from her husband Larry, in October 2024, effectively creating a space filled with love, inspiration and community spirit.

Located within the family-run business of Fireworks Heart and Home and adjacent to Alan’s Small Engine Service, Lori’s She Shed showcases a carefully curated selection of gifts and home decor that effortlessly blends country charm with a touch of elegance. The shop features an array of handcrafted items from local artisans, including exquisite jewelry from Haddam Fusion Crafts, Higganum Candles, and unique offerings from Foxglove Soap Company. In addition, it showcases locally-made artisan signs crafted from whisky barrels, homemade and beautiful pens made from shells and wood, and a delightful assortment of specialty soaps and grooming products for men. Lori has plans to expand her men’s section in 2026 and has recently introduced a stunning leather collection of bags and boots.

One of the shop’s unique highlights is a collection of delicate bracelets made in Lourdes, France, each containing holy water and an uplifting message of faith, hope, love and strength. Lori has made it a personal mission to gift these to special customers who have shared their life and health challenges, showcasing her genuine compassion and commitment to her patrons.

Lori’s journey to open this dream gift shop, anticipated since her childhood, is inspiring. Although she initially pursued a career in insurance and dedicated herself to her family, the entrepreneurial spirit eventually drew her back to her passion. The Maggi family has been deeply rooted in the Haddam community for more than 35 years, with their contributions reaching far beyond their business. This family affair, involving Lori, her husband Larry, their sons Anthony and Larry, Jr., daughter-in-law Heather, and niece, Alexandra, is a testament to their commitment not only to the success of their enterprises but also to the betterment of their community.

Lori’s She Shed proudly supports numerous local organizations including the Haddam Women’s Club, local Churches, and various non-profits like the Goodspeed Opera House. The Maggi family has been stalwart supporters of Haddam’s schools, sports teams, Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts and town commissions and committees. This support demonstrates their resilience through personal challenges such as a devastating house fire and what seemed like the never-ending construction projects surrounding their businesses.

Please join us in celebrating Lori’s She Shed not only as a wonderful business but also to highlight the spirit of community and resilience that it represents. The shop is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., and is closed on Sundays.

We encourage everyone to follow Lori’s She Shed on social media platforms, including Facebook and Instagram, to stay up to date on new offerings and events or visit their website lorissheshedgifts.com for more information, Remember, Valentine’s Day is just around the corner, stop by and find the perfect gift for those you love, including yourself!
