A Call for Art and Teaching Artists

Submitted by Barbara Nair

(January 4, 2026) — Spectrum Art Gallery in Centerbrook is now accepting submissions for our first exhibition of 2026, Signs of Love, which will run from January 23, 2026 to March 14, 2026, with an opening reception on January 23, 2026 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

While Valentine’s Day falls during the show, the theme looks more broadly at love as it’s experienced year-round, through connection, care, and shared moments between people, animals, and the world around us. Subtle or bold, personal or universal interpretations are welcome. The Artisan Store is also accepting fine crafts in all media and does not require adherence to the exhibition theme. Seasonal items are welcome.

Artists should email 3–4 JPG images (approx. 1MB each) with title, materials used and dimensions to Barbara@spectrumartgallery.org, using “Signs of Love” in the subject line. Artwork receiving will take place at the Gallery from January 11, 2026 to January 15, 2026 between 1:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m., and early submissions are strongly encouraged.

In addition, Spectrum is seeking teaching artists for fine art classes and 3–4 hour weekend workshops in early 2026; interested artists are encouraged to reach out by email with class and workshop ideas. Thank you for sharing this opportunity with your network and we look forward to seeing your work. Happy New Year!

Spectrum Art Gallery is located at  61 Main Street in Centerbrook. Phone: (860) 767-0742  Email:      barbara@spectrumartgallery.org
