Boys Basketball 2025: HKHS Downs East Hampton 49-44

(December 31, 2025) — On December 30, 2025 the Haddam-Killingworth High School Boys basketball team prevailed over the East Hampton Bellringers 49-44, bringing their record to 2-2 on the season.

Standout player of the game, Junior Kody Lehet, grabbed a career high 16 rebounds, and scored 9 points, to help propel the Cougars to victory. Junior Noah Marica also had an impressive game with 13 rebounds and 7 points. Senior co-captain Jay Evans continued to excel on offense, leading all scorers with 14 points including an impressive four 3-pointers. Evans also had 6 rebounds, 2 steals and 4 assists. Senior co-captain Declan Moriarty led the team in steals with 4 and continued to showcase his selfless play with 4 assists.

Rounding out the scoring, Junior Mason Eighmy 6, Junior Bordy Ferguson 10, and Moriarty 3. The Cougars also saw strong defensive play by Sophomore Peyton Esposito. The Cougars kick off the new year by facing the reigning Division V state champion Shepaug Valley Spartans in Washington on January 2, 2026. JV at 5:30 p.m., Varsity at 7:00 p.m. It’s a hike to the western side of Connecticut, but the Cougars would appreciate your support. See you on the court in 2026.
