Boys Basketball 2025: HKHS Defeats North Branford 53-39 in Season Opener

(December 22, 2025) — The Haddam-Killingworth High School Boys Basketball team opened the season with a resounding win at North Branford, 53-39 on December 20, 2025. The Cougars trailed at halftime, but rallied in the third quarter to put the game out of reach.

HKHS was led by junior Brody Feguson with 13 points, followed by seniors Declan Moriarty and Jay Evans with 11 and 10 points, respectively. Ferguson also had 7 rebounds while junior Kody Lehet pulled down 6.  Jay Evans led the team in steals with 4, picking up where he left off last season, showcasing his continued hustle. Also scoring for the Cougars, senior Pearce Goodison 4, junior Ethan Pitts 6, junior Noah Marica 4, and junior Mason Eighmy 5. A second half surge and overall team contribution put HKHS at 1-0 on the season.

Next up the Cougars will face the Cromwell Panthers Monday December 22, 2025 at 5:00 p.m.. Come out to support your HK Cougars for their home opener. See you on the court.
