Election 2025: Haddam Town Clerk Candidate Sarah Pytlik

Editor’s Note: HK-Now.com and Haddam Killingworth News asked the candidates for Town Clerk in Haddam and Killingworth to provide brief biographies as a way of introducing themselves to voters. The statement below is from Sarah Pytlik, who is running for Haddam Town Clerk. The candidate’s reply is unchanged from the original as submitted. HK-Now.com and Haddam Killingworth News are not responsible for errors in grammar, usage, punctuation or spelling.

I graduated from Haddam-Killingworth High School in 1998 and went on to attend college before deciding to pursue a more independent path by starting my own business. That decision shaped my career and gave me the opportunity to build skills in leadership, organization, and problem-solving that I continue to use every day.

Family is the heart of my life. I am the proud mom of four children, now ages 22, 20, 17, and 8. Raising them while pursuing my own professional and community goals has been both a challenge and the greatest joy of my life.

In addition to my own business,  I manage my husband’s construction business, where I also serve as the bookkeeper, handling the financial side of the company to keep operations running smoothly. I also serve as a Notary Public and Justice of the Peace, roles that allow me to support my community through important milestones and responsibilities. In addition, I am a member of the Haddam Economic Development Committee, where I work with others to encourage growth and opportunity while preserving the character of our town.

Balancing family, business, and community service has given me a wide perspective and a strong appreciation for the people and connections that make Haddam thrive.
