Election 2025: Killingworth Board of Finance Candidate Walter Adametz, Jr.

Editor’s Note: HK-Now.com and Haddam Killingworth News asked candidates for the Board of Finance in Haddam and Killingworth provide brief biographies as a way of introducing themselves to voters. The statement below is from Walter Adametz, Jr., who is running for the Killingworth Board of Finance. The candidate’s reply is unchanged from the original as submitted. My name is Walter Adametz Jr. and I’m running for the Board of Finance. Our family goes back 8 generations in town. My wife Cindy and I raised 3 children and have 8 grandchildren. Two of our children and 6 grandchildren still live in town.

I retired from the Town of Killingworth after 30 years of service as the Public Works Road Foreman, so I am no stranger to budgets, that I prepared and presented for the public works department. I implemented the multi-year capital equipment plan and the multi-year road maintenance program which enabled the town to plan for future expenditures to help keep a stable mill rate.

I served on the Park & Rec Commission as Vice- Chair then as Treasurer, producing budgets and presenting them.

I also served on the health and safety committee for the town. I was a past member of the Killingworth Volunteer Fire Department.

I initiated with River Cog, the first and only Regional Agriculture Council which enabled the town to secure agricultural grants which were not available to us before.

In closing I feel that I bring a common sense approach and being able to look at both sides and look after the well being of the Town that we all love and cherish. I ask for your vote and the Republican Slate on Nov. 4th. Thank you.
