Election 2025: Killingworth First Selectman Candidate John Samperi

Editor’s Note: HK-Now.com and Haddam Killingworth News asked the candidates for Board of Selectmen in Haddam and Killingworth to submit brief biographies as a way of introducing themselves to voters. Below is the response from John Samperi, a candidate for Killingworth First Selectman. The candidate’s reply is unchanged from the original as submitted. My name is John A. Samperi.   I am the Republican candidate for First Selectman.

For 20 years I have enjoyed the benefits of living in Killingworth.

My main goal, as First Selectman, is to improve the quality of life for Killingworth residents.

My first task will be to review the use of every dollar budgeted to our various town departments.  I will require an in-depth study with each department head to analyze their budget and in order to determine areas of overspending and waste.

It is my obligation to make sure each tax dollar is spent wisely.  The years of government experience I gained while working in West Haven have prepared me to run Killingworth effectively.  While living in West Haven, I served as Fire Commissioner and Councilor-at-Large.  In Killingworth, I am the former vice chairman of the Killingworth Republican Town Committee.  While here in Killingworth, I have saved the town approximately $15 million by fighting against unnecessary projects.

Our town should be run as a business no different than each of the budgets established by our residents for their households.  Democrats will keep pushing to increase our cost of living with unwise spending decisions.

As your First Selectman I will always work with everybody in Killingworth.

Our dedicated Republican team looks forward to the opportunity of serving our town.

VOTE ROW B on NOV 4
