Election 2025: Haddam Selectman Candidate Kate Anderson

Editor’s Note: HK-Now.com and Haddam Killingworth News asked the candidates for Board of Selectmen in Haddam and Killingworth to submit brief biographies as a way of introducing themselves to voters. Below is the response from Haddam Selectman Kate Anderson, who is running for re-election. The candidate’s reply is unchanged from the original as submitted. HK-Now.com and Haddam Killingworth News are not responsible for errors in grammar, usage, punctuation or spelling.

Kate Anderson is thankful for Haddam’s continued support as she runs for re-election to the Board of Selectmen. Kate brings unmatched dedication, insight, and energy to every endeavor as she balances her role in town government with a full-time career as a sales and marketing manager for Gilbane Building, a top national construction management firm.

Her strong meeting attendance record and involvement beyond monthly BOS meetings reflects her commitment to Haddam’s vitality. From 2016 to 2025, Kate was a member of the Haddam Economic Development Commission, where she held the chair position for several years. She is proud of her role in the development and implementation of the Tylerville Business Interruption Grant Program to support businesses adversely affected by the Swing Bridge renovation. This innovative forgivable loan program received unanimous town approval from the EDC, Board of Selectmen, Board of Finance, and a town meeting.

Kate is passionate about fostering community spirit. Whether working at the election polls, coordinating Haddam River Days, planning trunk-or-treat, or volunteering (and shopping!) at the farmer’s and holiday markets, Kate’s involvement speaks volumes about her love for Haddam.

With a proven track record and a passion for public service, Kate looks forward to continuing her service and helping Haddam thrive.
