Did You Know?

(September 3, 2025) — Everybody loves to get dressed up for Halloween, but finding room in the budget for new costumes every year can take some of the fun out of the holiday.  And even when the cost isn’t an issue, nobody wants to send costumes to the landfill when the party’s over.  That’s why Brainerd Library is sponsoring a Costume Swap this fall.  Starting September 15, 2025, bring your outgrown and leftover costumes to the library. We’ll have collection bins on both levels.

Then, come back on October 4, 2025 to choose your new look.  The swap will be free and open to everybody at 11:00 a.m., whether you’ve donated or not, but those who have donated will receive an ‘early bird’ ticket to come in at 10:30 a.m.

Brainerd Memorial Library is located at 920 Saybrook Road in Haddam.
