Haddam Sustainability Committee Makes Donation to Social Services

(July 2, 2025) — The Haddam Sustainability Committee has donated $1,605 to Haddam Social Services. The Committee held its Fifth Annual Shredding Event on May 17, 2025 at Haddam Elementary School and, thanks to the generosity of many, raised funds for a great cause. The event also recycled an amazing amount of material. Committee members recently presented a check to Haddam Social Services.

Thank you to everyone who came by and donated as well as to our committee members who helped throughout the day. The day would not have flowed as smoothly if not for the help of Amelia Riggs and Brodie Lawrence, two Haddam-Killingworth High School volunteers. They worked all day lifting heavy boxes out of vehicles so residents wouldn’t have to get out of their cars.

We have been asked if we could hold this event twice a year. We would love to, but unfortunately the cost of the truck allows us to schedule only one event per year.
