River Valley Transit to Offer Taxi Voucher Program

Submitted by River Valley Transit

(June 15, 2025) — River Valley Transit will soon partner with M7 to expand our taxi voucher program to the entire region beginning July 1, 2025. Taxi vouchers allow seniors and people with disabilities to use M7 taxi service at half the regular rate.

Taxi vouchers play an important role in filling gaps such as weekends, nights and trips outside of the RVT service area. The program uses grant funding to cover half the cost of the trip. Trips can be made 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to anywhere in Connecticut. Wheelchair accessible vehicles are available and door-to-door assistance can be provided on request.

Taxi vouchers are available to residents with a trip beginning or ending in Clinton, Chester, Deep River, Durham, East Haddam, East Hampton, Essex, Haddam, Killingworth, Lyme, Madison, Middlefield, Middletown, Old Lyme, Old Saybrook, Portland and Westbrook. All M7 drivers are fully trained and vetted, and all vehicles are fully licensed, inspected and insured.
