Higganum Company Partners with State Junior Soccer Association

Submitted by CJSA

(May 29, 2025) — The Connecticut Junior Soccer Association (CJSA) has announced a partnership with GCI Outdoor, a Higganum-based company that is a leading global innovator of portable, built-to-last outdoor furniture. Through this collaboration, GCI Outdoor becomes the Official Chair of CJSA, helping elevate the sideline experience for athletes, coaches and families across the state.

“We’re proud to partner with GCI Outdoor to enhance the game day experience for our soccer families,” said Josh Krusewski, Executive Director of Connecticut Junior Soccer Association. “With their top-quality chairs, tables, stadium seats, canopies and sunshades, parents and supporters can come to their children’s games fully equipped for comfort and convenience. There’s nothing better than being able to sit comfortably and quietly to enjoy watching your young athlete play the beautiful game.”

This partnership reflects a shared commitment to support youth development both on and off the field. GCI Outdoor will have a presence at key CJSA events throughout the year, including Connecticut Cup and State Cup in the fall and spring. As part of its involvement, GCI Outdoor will execute branded activations at select CJSA events, providing engaging opportunities that strengthen community connection and brand visibility.

“We’re proud to support CJSA in its mission to develop, promote and administer youth soccer across Connecticut,” said Karen Pitts, Vice President of Marketing at GCI Outdoor. “This partnership aligns perfectly with GCI Outdoor’s commitment to enhancing outdoor experiences through innovative comfort and quality. Supporting young athletes as they compete at the state and local levels helps build confidence, character and teamwork—foundations that are essential for future success.”

Together, CJSA and GCI Outdoor are committed to delivering a first-class youth sports environment, on the field and from the sidelines. With Connecticut Cup serving as the statewide competition for residency-based teams, and CJSA State Cup offering a pathway to the US Youth Soccer Eastern Regional Championships for non-residency teams, GCI Outdoor’s support will enhance the gameday experience at every level of competition.

Founded in 1996, GCI Outdoor in Higganum has been a leading innovator in outdoor recreational gear for more than twenty-five years. Their products, including chairs, camp tables, stadium seats, canopies and sunshades, are known for their high quality and are available at more than 3,000 stores worldwide and online at gcioutdoor.com.
