By Janice Calvi-Ruimerman

(May 27, 2025)The May 20, 2025, season-ending Girls Lacrosse Senior Game at Haddam Killingworth High School resulted in a big win over Cromwell.  It has been said that a cougar can take down a panther but, on this day, it was proven. As fans filled the stands cheering for the home team, tears of joy were seen as the HKHS Seniors took the field.

  • #1 Seanna Ruimerman, Captain, attending the University of Mary Washington in the Fall to play lacrosse and study Medical Sciences on the Pre-Veterinarian Track.
  • #2 Lauren Wiese, attending the University of New Hampshire in the Fall to study Secondary English Education.
  • #4 Ava Ramino, Captain, attending the University of New England in the Fall to play lacrosse and study Physical Therapy.
  • #8 Julia Bermingham, attending the American University of Paris in the Fall to study International and Comparative Politics.
  • #16 Ana Wojnarowicz, attending Keene State College in the Fall to study Business.

  • #32 Sonya Luneau, attending the University of Massachusetts-Amherst in the Fall to study Legal Studies.
  • #51 Gabrielle Williams, Captain, attending the Rochester Institute of Technology in the Fall to study Engineering.

With initial draw and ball control, Captains Ava Ramino and Seanna Ruimerman quickly controlled this game, having six draw possessions each. The Panthers were clearly out of their element as Williams defended the net with an almost two-quarter shutout, giving up only five goals in the second half.

This team came together for its Seniors, passing the ball to Senior players throughout the game and ensuring that assists were made by Catalano, Bermingham, Wojnarowicz and Luneau. The final score was a 13-5 win for HKHS. What a way to end the regular season and Senior Night! Keep those sticks up, girls. Old Saybrook awaits you on their turf to begin the battle for Shoreline Conference championship.

Goals: Bailey (1) Ramino (4) Ruimerman (5) Weise (1) Wrinn (2)
