Haddam Public Hearing on Long-Range Capital Planning Committee May 21st

Submitted by Town of Haddam
(May 15, 2025) — The Town of Haddam will hold a Public Hearing on May 21, 2025 at 6:00 p.m. at the Haddam Volunteer Fire Company Community Hall, 439 Saybrook Road in Higganum on a resolution to end operation of the town’s Long-Range Capital Planning Committee.
On November 17, 1988, an ordinance creating a Long-Range Capital Planning
Committee was enacted, and took effect on December 11, 1988. The Haddam Board of Selectmen has determined that the continued operation and existence of this committee is redundant and no longer needed and has offered a resolution that “the Article IV Long-Range Capital Planning Committee, §§ 45-14 through 45-18 inclusive, of the Town of Haddam Code be repealed in its entirety.”
After the public hearing, the resolution will be submitted to a Town Meeting for approval, and set forth as a Yes or No question as follows:
“Shall the Town adopt the Proposed Resolution to Repeal Ordinance of the Long Range Capital Planning Committee, §§ 45-14 through 45-18 inclusive, of the Town
of Haddam Code of Ordinances, Yes or No?”
