(May 9, 2025) — The Haddam-Killingworth High School Softball team picked up two wins on May 8, 2025 by defeating East Hampton in a doubleheader at HKHS. Recent rains forced the Cougars to play two games as the season nears its final weeks.
Game 1, HKHS 6 East Hampton 4 (5 innings)
In Game One, HKHS scored two runs in each of the first three innings propelled by a two-run triple from Grace Natanzon and a two-run RBI single from Grace LaConte. Emma Giaccone picked up the win, her eighth of the year, striking out nine Bellringers.
Game 2, HKHS 14 East Hampton 0 (5 innings)
In Game Two, the Cougars exploded for nine runs in the first inning and coasted to a 14-0 victory. HK’s Grace LaConte had a big game with three hits, three runs scored and four RBI. Liv LaTorre contributed two hits and drove in four, and Grace Natanzon added a triple, three runs scored, with two walks and a hit-by-pitch. Emma Giaccone pitched a shutout, gaining her second win of the day and striking out five. HKHS is now 9-2 on the season while East Hampton falls to 4-9.
