Submitted by Barbara Nair, Spectrum Gallery

(May 1, 2025) — As we move into the pleasures of summer, Spectrum Art Gallery and Artisans Store presents Nature Up Close, an exhibit that invites us to take a closer look—at our gardens, blooming flowers, towering trees, and at the intricate world of insects emerging with the season. Nature Up Close showcases original artwork that captures these intimate views through painting, sculpture, mixed media, and photography by both established and emerging artists.

The Open Reception for Nature Up Close is Friday, May 16, 2025 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Enjoy fine art, crafts, wine and refreshments that evening and throughout the Open House Weekend, Saturday, May 17, 2025 from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. and Sunday, May 18, 2025 from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. The exhibit runs through July 6, 2025.

Spectrum’s Artisans Store offers new pottery, glass, fiber, home décor, jewelry, clothing, and accessories, children’s books and toys. Spectrum Art Gallery is located at 61 Main Street in Centerbrook. Gallery and Store hours are Wednesday through Saturday (Noon-6:00 p.m.) and Sunday (Noon-5:00 p.m.).
