Submitted by Robbie Marshall

(April 18, 2025) — The following programs and events will take place in the next few weeks at Brainerd Memorial Library in Haddam. Phone 860-345-2204 for further information.

Poetry Night/April 29th
Join us on Tuesday, April 29, 2025 at 6:30 p.m. to close out the month by reading some of your favorite poems – either by other poets or your own poetry.  Refreshments will be provided.
Stuffie Storytime and Sleepover/May 2nd
Kids! Bring a stuffed animal to our Storytime and Sleepover on May 2, 2025 starting at 5:00 p.m. All kids and stuffed animals should wear jammies – but – only the stuffed animal gets to sleep over. Check Brainerd Library’s Instagram/Facebook to see what these rascals are up to! Pick up your stuffed animal the morning of May 3, 2025 and hear all about their escapades.
Adult Drop-In:  Mini Birdhouse and Tea Cup Gnomes/May 7th
On Wednesday, May 7, 2025, from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., come in and decorate a mini birdhouse using paints, scrapbook paper and markers. Then, at 5:30 p.m. do you have an old teacup and saucer lying around? Have the urge to go thrifting? Bring in your teacups and saucers and we will turn them into gnomes to sit on a shelf or desk.
New Hiking Club! Higganum Cove/May 17th
On May 17, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. join us for Brainerd Memorial Library’s inaugural hike at Higganum Cove. This is a leisurely hike and useful for any of us who still haven’t been to the Cove. Meet first at the Library at 10:00 a.m. and we will drive down to the Cove. Registration required.
These are just a few of the fun and interesting activities going on at BML this Spring. Check our website, brainerdlibrary.org, for the many ongoing Children and Teen programs.
