Haddam Sustainability Committee and Haddam Garden Club Co-Host Earth Day Event

Submitted by Kristin Battistoni

(April 7, 2025) — This year, Earth Day falls on April 22, 2025. When the Haddam Sustainability Committee realized our regular meeting fell on the same date we knew we had to do something special. We have teamed up with the Haddam Garden Club to offer an opportunity for you to start your own flowers and vegetables from seeds. We will be using recyclable containers as our pots. We will have all the material you will need, unless you want to bring something from home.

The HGC will be there to offer guidance and answer questions you may have about gardening in general.  The public is welcome and this program is open to all ages.

The event will be held at the Old Town Hall located at 21 Field Park Drive in Haddam from 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Pizza will be served.

Immediately after planting our seeds, we will hold our regular HSC meeting from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with guest speaker Kim Price, a member of the Chester Fair Committee, who will be talking to us about creating waste-free events.

Please join us for one or both of these programs. Contact Kristin Battistoni at 860-345-8531 X 206 or HaddamSustainabilityCommittee@gmail.com with any questions.
