Aquarion Water Company Seeks Nominations for Environmental Champion Award

(March 11, 2025) — Aquarion Water Company has announced the opening of nominations for the 2025 Aquarion Environmental Champion Awards. Now in its fifteenth year, the program honors the remarkable efforts of Connecticut individuals, businesses, and organizations that contribute to conserving and improving the state’s natural environment.

Since its inception in 2010, the Aquarion Environmental Champion Awards have spotlighted the passion and hard work of Connecticut’s environmental stewards and sustainability leaders,” said Lucy Teixeira, President of Aquarion Water Company. “These advocates have led by example, demonstrating innovative practices and initiatives that significantly contribute to our state’s ecological health, environmental preservation, and overall vitality. We encourage individuals, businesses, and organizations to submit nominations this year and help us spread the word about the importance of preserving our natural resources.”

The 2025 Aquarion Environmental Champion Awards will recognize outstanding environmental contributions in the Adult, Non-Profit Organization, Business, and Student (Grades 9-12) categories. Winners in the Adult, Non-Profit Organization, and Business categories can choose an environmental non-profit to receive a $5,000 grant in their honor. The winner of the Student category will receive a $1,000 award.

The deadline for nominations is May 9, 2025, and winners will be celebrated at a special ceremony on June 7, 2025, at Connecticut’s Beardsley Zoo.For more information, or to nominate an individual, business, organization, or student, please visit www.aquarionwater.com/awards.
