Scholarship Opportunity for Killingworth Seniors

Submitted by Tracy Plumley

(March 9, 2025) — The Killingworth Scholarship Association is pleased to announce that our annual scholarship opportunity is now available.  Any Killingworth resident who is graduating from high school this year and planning to attend post-secondary school next year is eligible to apply. Our scholarships are funded by the generous support of Killingworth residents and businesses.  We award multiple scholarships every year.

Our scholarships are available for any intended majors.  We have a general fund for all majors. We also have the Kathy Weiss Memorial Scholarship for students pursuing degrees in education or related fields, as well as liberal arts studies.  Additionally, we have the George and Mary Keithan Scholarship for students pursuing degrees in STEAM fields – science, technology, engineering, the arts, and mathematics.

Students interested in applying for our scholarship should email killingworthscholarshipksa@gmail.com for an application.  Applications are also available at Haddam-Killingworth High School, Xavier High School and Mercy High School. Applications are due April 2, 2025.

In June 2024, we awarded nine scholarships to seniors from Haddam-Killingworth High School.  Anabelle LaTorre and Blake Kamoen were granted the Kathy Weiss Memorial Scholarship. Elizabeth Murphy, Ella Commerford, Jaimey DiNapoli, Nicolette Hines, Peyton Taylor, Rebecca Rosenblum-Jones, and Samantha Minickene were all awarded scholarships from the George and Mary Keithan Fund.  We congratulate all our winners and wish them well in their future endeavors.
