(February 11, 2025) — On February 8, 2025, the Haddam-Killingworth High School Boys Basketball team defeated the North Branford Thunderbirds 64 – 57. Strong performances by junior Declan Moriarty (17 points) and senior Cody Robinson (14 points) helped the Cougars secure the victory as HKHS improves to 9-9 on the season.

HK was down by three after the first quarter and entered the third quarter tied at 26.  A 19-point scoring rally by HK in the fourth, with key offensive and defensive rebounding, helped the Cougars close the deal. Senior Andrew Crayton had the team’s first triple double with 13 points, 13 rebounds and 10 assists. Junior powerhouse Spencer Savoy muscled his way to 10 points and 3 steals while junior Jay Evans continued to hone his game with 9 points and 3 rebounds.  The sustained offensive game plan demonstrated by Jake McKenzie and Joe Slane are just what the Cougars need and will require in the post-season.

Next up for the Cougars, Valley Regional at home on Senior Night, Tuesday February 11, 2025. JV at 5:30 p.m., Varsity at 7:00 p.m.  Come out to support these class-act seniors we’ve rooted on since travel basketball. Let’s pack The Den. See you on the Court.
