RSD 17 Board of Education Seeks Public Input on HKHS Project

Submitted by Jennifer Favalora, Vice Chair, RSD 17 Board of Eduication

(February 8, 2025) — The Regional School District 17 Board of Education is nearing an important decision: whether to renovate the existing Haddam-Killingworth High School or build a new facility. This follows a two-year review of the District’s Long-Term Capital Plan, which aimed to identify an affordable solution for aging infrastructure.

We invite you to be part of this process by attending a presentation of conceptual designs and educational specifications by Antinozzi Associates at the next Board of Education meeting.  Public comment will be available after the presentation.

All project materials are available on the HKHS Project Website for review.

Board of Education meeting details:

– Date: Tuesday, February 11, 2025

– Time: 6:30 p.m.

– Location: HKHS Community Room

While this meeting will not be broadcast live, it will be recorded and re-aired on HKTV.

The RSD17 Board of Education deeply values input from community members and encourages your participation before a decision is made.
