Boys Basketball 2025: HKHS Falls to the Coginchaug Blue Devils

(January 27, 2025) — On January 24, 2025, the Haddam-Killingworth High School Boys Basketball team lost to the Coginchaug Blue Devils 60-55. The Cougars kept the game close and led in the first quarter; however Coginchaug was able to take advantage in the later quarters when the Cougars were stymied by the Blue Devils offense.

HK hustled and defended against a substantially bigger team, though in the end the Blue Devils prevailed.  HK was led by senior Cody Robinson who had 19 points, followed by junior Jay Evans with 12 and senior Andrew Crayton with 10. Andrew Crayton led in rebounds with 5, and 5 assists. Junior powerhouse Spencer Savoy had 4 rebounds and 2 steals, and senior Joe Slane had 3 rebounds. Junior Declan Moriarty had 2 assists and senior Jake McKenzie had 3 steals. Rounding out the scoring, Spencer Savoy (9) Declan Moriarty (4) and Joe Slane (2). The Cougars look to bounce back on January 28, 2025 at North Branford. JV at 5:30 p.m., Varsity at 7:00 p.m.. Come support your Cougars against the Thunderbirds. See you on the Court.
