Tylerville Roundabouts Project: Two-Week Lookahead

Submitted by Sara Mendillo, Middlesex County Chamber of Commerce

(January 22, 2025) — The Connecticut Department of Transportation has provided the following update on work at the Tylerville Roundabouts construction project in Haddam during the next two weeks:

Northern Roundabout: The work at this site will be behind the barrier on the retaining wall, which is not expected to impede traffic too often. The main traffic impact would be trucks entering and exiting the site for material and equipment deliveries.  There also may be brief traffic stoppages for work activities.

Southern Roundabout:  The majority of the work at this site will be behind the barrier associated with existing bridge demolition and is not expected to impede traffic. Drivers should anticipate random days/times of alternating one-way traffic through the roundabout to facilitate truck traffic. Please note that there also will be continued utility work through the roundabout area until all the cabling has been shifted from the Temporary Poles to the Final Configuration.  Drivers can expect times of alternating one-way traffic, facilitated by the utility companies, until this work is completed.
